Konica Minolta technology has achieved a Fogra first. The AccurioPress C84hc is the only high chroma toner system on the market to have received international FograCert Validation Printing System (VPS) certification. As a result, all Konica Minolta’s current color production systems are now certified.
Fogra, an independent research institute in Germany for media technologies, recognises print production systems that demonstrate commitment to ISO standards, based on measurable criteria. The AccurioPress C84hc fulfils all criteria of this programme in the tested configuration with two controllers – Konica Minolta’s own or the optional EFI Fiery.
To achieve Fogra accreditation the AccurioPress C84hc technology underwent extensive testing that included various printing conditions covering a wide range of capabilities. These included PDF/X conformance, proofing substrate color, gloss and fluorescence, color accuracy, uniformity, permanence, and light fastness. Other factors were fading, long and short-term repeatability, print rub resistance, colorimetric tone value transfer, tone value reproduction limits, image register and resolving power and margin information.
Pioneering print sets the tone
The pioneering and highly successful 80ppm AccurioPress C84hc was launched in the summer of 2024. It is fifth generation chroma toner and allows flexible choice of controller technology with either Konica Minolta Controller IC-609 or Fiery Controller IC-317.
Konica Minolta’s high chroma technology expands the color gamut of its digital production printers, particularly in the areas of light blue, green, pink, purple and magenta. This system uses a special toner that allows for more vibrant and accurate reproduction of colors, especially those found in RGB images, which often appear dull or muddy when printed with standard CMYK.
Application agility with colour certainty
The press’s reproduction of brighter, clearer colors opens up wider application possibilities such as studio photo, photo book, nature photos and web-to-print orders for commercial printers, dedicated design houses, advertising agencies, corporates and brands. It is especially suited to the reproduction of certain colors, for example global brands with exacting color requirements.
